Pro Skater Chris Cole, regarded as one of the top skaters in the world, along with other sponsors sent 30 kids from the Police Athletic League of Philadelphia to Camp Woodward for an entire week to experience indoor and outdoor skating activities in a premier setting. The kids began their skating adventure on August 21, 2011. The youngsters represent eight PAL centers throughout Philadelphia.

Chris Cole and the camp covered the cost of tuition while other sponsors provided each child with boards, sneakers, clothing, protective gear and more. Chris Cole also provided each camper with spending money to ensure they would be able to take advantage of the state-of-the-art camp’s many attractions and hotspots.

PAL’s commanding Officer, Lt Bryan Anthony, said that he is amazed by the display of generosity: “To send 30 children from the inner city-free of charge to a camp that costs more than $1,000 each is absolutely amazing. These children are so lucky to have Chris and Camp Woodward looking out for them and to be presented with this awesome opportunity. It’s not everyday that a pro skater contacts PAL and makes a dream come true for so many kids. We’re so grateful to Chris, his sponsors and the folks at Camp Woodward who are making this possible for our PAL youth.”
